Now that we are into the New Year, the date for the family reunion will be upon us before we know it. We want to thank the many cousins who have already submitted your registration forms. We are looking forward to your arrival!!
The reunion committees are hard at work planning and making arrangements to ensure that the reunion is both meaningful and enjoyable. Of particular significance, is the Family History Exhibit / Lecture celebrating our Native American and African-American heritage, “White Nights” Welcome Reception, Silent Auction and Talent Showcase featuring The Spaulding “All Star” Jazz Ensemble, Fabulous Awards Banquet and fun filled Picnic. Our Region is sponsoring a Golf Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser and the Family Foundation will be conducting a 2 day Entrepreneur Expo (www.besdaexpo.com). Therefore to assist us in our planning a well executed event, please take a moment to complete the enclosed registration form and forward it to our treasurer at your earliest convenience. Information regarding registration fees and the Agenda is provided in the enclosed brochure and will be posted on the family website.

2012 Family Optional Activities
In addition to the many family activities and gatherings, there will also be opportunities for your family to tour and enjoy the city. Our reunion “City Ambassador” is planning some fun local outings for the family to do as a group. It is important to note these activities are not included in your registration and will require pre payment. A detailed list of the tours and entertainment activities, and their costs will be included in a mailing later this spring. A list of Optional activities is provided and we need your input.

The latest information regarding how to register, the agenda, special events, hotel activities, and other applicable information will be posted on the website and Facebook Page. If you know of family members who don’t have access to the website, please make copies and share the information with them. In closing, we are still in need of volunteers to assist with working on the registration desk and other events during the reunion weekend. Accepting Reservations Now!
Hotel Rooms are blocked at the Four Diamond rated Hyatt Regency Philadelphia under the name "BESDA Spaulding Family Reunion" as follows:
Hotel Rate: Standard Double - $155.00 per night, plus all applicable state and local taxes. This is a flat frate for the room, irrespective of the number of persons in the room.
Room Guarantee: Individual room reservations must be made directly with the hotel and confirmed and guaranteed by the attendee with a deposit of one night's room revenue (plus applicable taxes). Should an attendee cancel a reservation, refund of the deposit and/or cancellation fees will be in accordance with the general policy of the hotel at that time.
Reservation Method: All reservations starting 1/1/2011 must be made individually throught the Hotel Reservation Department by calling (215) 928-1234 or (888) 421-1442.
A special rate of $155 has been arranged at the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn's Landing for BESDA guests.
This year we are offering arebate of $50.00 for the first 50 persons registering for the reunion that are Seniors 70 years of age or older and/or families how have 4 persons per household attending the reunion. The rebate will be refunded after the reunion.
The Early Bird registration fee is $155 per adult no later than (NLT) November 15, 2011. The Regular registration fee is $165 per adult for those who register NLT May 1, 2012. The Late registration fee will be $185 per adult for those who register after the May 1st cut off date.
The registration fee for children less than 12 years of age will be $85 per child, irrespective of the date registered. Attendees 12 years and older are considered adults for the purposes of the registration fee.
Reunion fee also includes Friday Reception, Banquet, Picnic, Hospitality Room and (1) Gift bags per household (includes a T-shirt per attendee, and Souvenir Booklet)

2012 Family Reunion Tentative Agenda
Because of the many attractions available around town, we are working with the local tourist bureau and chamber of commerce to present the family multiple options. However, there will be events planned at the hotel for those who choose not to take advantage of local activities and tours.
